Thank you to all who participated or volunteered their time at the second annual Seattle Area Get Your Rear in Gear 5K race/walk this past Sunday, November 4th, at King County’s Marymoor Park in Redmond. The event, which was co-sponsored by Evergreen, was a great success with close to 500 participants, over double the number of runners as last year. Over $25,000 was raised to create awareness for colon cancer and promote screenings and living a healthy lifestyle. It was a great morning, complete with a colon-themed CrossFit Fuse obstacle course and giant inflatable walk-through colon to finish the race. Participating kids were invited to run in the Kids Dash, which had volunteers in veggie costumes to lead them through the finish-line colon. Thank you again to Team Evergreen, which had 27 participants come out to run in the race, and also to our Evergreen volunteers, who arrived bright and early to help set up and volunteer their time during race activities.
